Athlete Spotlight Corner

As we have entered 2024, here is a sneak peek at a few of our elites, and what they are up to!

  • Katie Irgens

    MYSTIC, CT

Katie is a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy. While working full time on submarines, she found and has created the balance to also train at a high level. Katie came to Dave just missing the OTQ at Marathon in 2020. She broke the course record at half marathon in NH in 2021, placed 4th overall at Marine Corps Marathon (DC, 2022) while winning the Armed Forces Division (individual title) and ran a strong race to place 30th in a mega talented field at the 2022 USATF Cross Country Championships in Richmond, VA. Katie ran top 20 at the always competitive Mesa Half Marathon (AZ) and top 10 at the Manchester Marathon (UK). Katie looks to continue a hot streak of successful running in 2024, with an eventual goal of the OTQ. Katie is married to her awesome husband Matthew, and 12 days before Coach Dave and Gregoria, welcomed their first child, a son, Killian. They live in Mystic, CT with their awesome and wicked fast dog, Luna!

  • Audrey Suttor

    BOULDER, CO

Audrey comes to Ame For It Elite with a similar story to her teammate Lenny. Suttor, the former pro at Duathlon, and 2023 AG National Champion, decided it was time to focus solely on running, and the 2028 Olympic Marathon Trials with Coach Dave. A 2:53 marathoner on multi sport legs, Audrey possesses many skills from pro competition that will translate well as she targets bigger running goals and more time and volume on the roads compared to Duathlon prep. Audrey placed 6th in a talented elite field at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon to kick off 2024. Short term we will focus on the 2024 Boston Marathon, then a summer of speed in prep for Fall Cross. Audrey lives and trains in Boulder, CO, and is married to her husband Todd, an accomplished Triathlete himself.

  • Lenny Ramsey

    FAYETTEVILLE, AR

Lenny comes to Ame For It Elite with a bit of a different background than most. She decided in 2023, it was time to hang up her professional racing career for a bit at Triathlon, and focus primarily on running, under the direction of Coach Dave. A huge switch, but enters the team as one of the fastest women at marathon off the bike (2:58) in Ironman. Lenny and Dave will be working towards the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2028. In 2024, she debuted with a top 40 finish at the always competitive Houston Marathon, shaving 5 mins off her PR in the short tenure here. We look to sharpen up on speed, while introducing new forms of endurance, and racing shorter distances down the line as we prepare for 2028. Lenny lives and trains in Fayetteville, AR and is married to her awesome wife Becca.
